Quality Time with Ben
Franklin! The famous American patriot Ben Franklin (1706-1790) accomplished many great things in science, government, and invention during his lifetime in 18th century Philadelphia. One of his most well known accomplishments was a book he wrote and published titled “Poor Richards Almanac”. Franklin included many words of wisdom or proverbs within the book such as: - Better slip with the foot than with the tongue. - Haste makes waste. - He that lives upon hope will die fasting. - No gains without pains. - Three may keep a secret, only if two of them are dead. Short Essay Writing Question: Think about what each of the proverbs mean. Choose one that has importance to your own life. Write what it means and how you can relate to it. |
